Ngong has one of the more favourable climates in Kajiado County, largely because of its high elevation and proximity to the Ngong Hills. The municipality ranges from about 1,700 metres at Kiserian to 2,460 metres in the Ngong Hills, and rainfall is considerably higher around the hills than in much of the county.
